What are the Hardest and Strongest Metals ? Research Topic

What are the Hardest and Strongest Metals?

      The Strongest Natural Metal: Tungsten

As far as pure metals go, tungsten has the highest tensile strength, with an ultimate strength of 1510 megapascals. Tungsten also has the honor of having the highest melting point of any unalloyed metal and the second highest melting point in the whole periodic table—only carbon can withstand hotter temperatures. Tungsten is very dense and brittle, making it difficult to work within all but its purest forms. Tungsten is commonly used in electrical and military applications, and you may find tungsten filaments in light bulbs and tungsten coating that adds a real punch to projectiles. It is also a common component in steel and other alloys, where even a small amount can significantly increase the strength of the alloy.

              The Strongest Alloy: Steel

Alloys are a constantly changing field, as researchers attempt to create ever-stronger combinations of elements. Generally, the strongest alloy is steel mixed with a few other elements. Vanadium steel alloys seem to be particularly promising, with several companies releasing variants with ultimate strengths of up to 5205 MPa. The steel that holds this distinction is called Micro-Melt® 10 Tough Treated Tool Steel.

                 The Hardest Metal: Chromium

The 'hardness' of a mineral is generally determined by the Mohs scale and is defined as the scratch resistance of a mineral. Diamonds are the hardest minerals known to man, but what is the hardest metal? That honor goes to chromium, a metal perhaps best known as the key ingredient in stainless steel. Chromium is also commonly used in chrome plating, which acts as a form of protection against corrosion and physical damage.
The Most Useful Strong Metal: Titanium

With an ultimate strength of about 434 MPa, titanium is the perfect blend of strength and practicality. Its low density makes it perfect for industrial uses requiring a strong metal with a high melting point. Indeed, titanium has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any natural metal known to man. Pure titanium is stronger than standard steel, while being less than half the weight, and can be made into even stronger alloys. Because it is also fairly common, it's no wonder that titanium is used for a multitude of purposes. When it comes to manufacturing, the only strong natural metal worth caring about is titanium.

Children of The Blood an Bone Essay

In English, we are going to be writing an essay about a novel which we read and its called The Children Of The Blood And Bone.

Children Of The Blood And Bone

                            Introduction

Is it fair to treat someone differently just because they're different from you? The Children of the Blood and Bone's author Tomi Adeyemi shares this idea throughout the whole book. I will be mainly talking about the characters and their point of views, the settings and different types of Maji's and their Deities.

                                              Body 1

The main protagonists of the novel Children of the Blood and Bone are Zelie, Inan, and Amari.
These characters have a chapter each and in every chapter, they share their different point of views.
The use of different point of views helps the reader to understand what's happening to the character and
what they think and feel about the situation. The battle at Ibeji is a good example because it started with
Zelie's point of view in the fight and shifted to Amari's point of view. The author even gave Inan a point of
view as well and what makes this interesting is that he is trying to find out which side he belongs to the
Maji and the Kosidan or his father. The important thing about point of views is that it helps us see the
evolution of the characters.

                                                               Body 2

Zelie is a diviner(Divîners are people who have the ability to do magic, but their powers may not yet be activated she lives with her father and brother Tzain. Amari and Inan are siblings and both children of King Saran. The other thing that makes the book interesting and exciting is the different settings and on the first page of the book you can see the map of Orisha and that helps you with the book also. The characters were first introduced to the book in different settings Zelie lived in Ilorin, whereas Amari and Inan (Connector) lived in the Royal Palace(Lagos). The campsite where all diviners were hiding was a challenging setting because when all the diviners were celebrating the king's army attacked them. Many diviners were killed leading to Zu, Kwame, Yemi's death, and Zelie's capture. That's what's good about this book you'll never know what will happen next and this gives the reader excitement and suspense.

                                                                      Body 3

There are two types of people in the Novel The Children of the Blood and Bone there's the Kosidan and the Maji. The Kosidan are common citizens of Orisha who do not possess the ability to do magic. The Maji are citizens of Orisha who are born with the ability to summon magical powers and are easily distinguishable by their bright white hair. Each of the ten clans of Orisha and their associated Maji can harness an element of the natural world, with their magical powers based on this element. Read on for a guide to each of the ten clans. Reaper - The Maji of Life and Death. This Maji, which hails from the Ikú clan, can access and manipulate the spirits of the living and the dead. Their associated deity is OYA. Connector - The Maji of Mind, Spirit, and Dreams. A Connector - from the Èèmí clan - can read minds and tap into the dreams and consciousness of others. Their associated deity is Orí. Tider - The Maji of Water. Tiders of the Omi Clan can manipulate water and ice, moving and shaping its natural form. Their associated deity is Yemoja. Burner - The Maji of Fire. A Burner, the Maji of the Iná, can summon and control the element of fire. Their associated deity is Sàngó. Winder - The Maji of Air. Hailing from the Aféfé clan, Winders can control the air and change the course of the wind. Their associated deity is Ayao. Grounder and Wielder - The Maji's of Iron and Earth. These connected Aiye clan Maji can manipulate the earth's natural resources. A Grounder can shape and change the land, and a Welder can bend and contort metals. Their associated deity is Ògún. Lighter - The Maji of Darkness and Light. Lighters, the Maji of the Ìmólè clan, can summon darkness and invoke the light. Their associated deity is Ochumare. Cancer and Healer - The Maji of Health and Disease. These Ìwòsàn clan's Maji can manipulate the health of the human body, the Cancer can inflict sickness or disease, and the Healer can provide healing. Their associated deity is Babalúayé. Seer - The Maji of Time. The Seer of the Aríran clan can summon memories from the past and see into the future. Their associated deity is Orúnmila. Tamer - The Maji of Animals. Tamers, the Maji of the Eranko clan, can control and transform animals. Their associated deity is Oxosi. These are all the different types of Maji's and their Deities.

                                                                   Conclusion

The Novel The Children of The Blood and Bone was created by the author Tomi Adeyemi and contained some important that helped make the story. These were the uses of the point of views it helped the reader understand how the character feels and how they think about the situation. Then there were the challenging settings one memorable setting was the Holy Temple because the ending was intense and it was filled with suspense. Last but not least the different types of Maji and their deities this is something that makes you feel excited and it could be linked to Avatar: The Last Airbender because all of them have their unique gift. Well these were my thoughts if yours was different it only means we think differently.

The Stolen Generation ?

What is the Stolen Generation? the Aboriginal people forcibly removed from their families as children between the 1900s and the 1960s, to be brought up at the Moore River Native Settlement.

The song "Took the children away" by Archie Roach Is about? The Half-caste children being taken away and the aboriginal people being fenced by the rabbit-proof fence. The welfare and the police told the aboriginal people that their way of life was better and they could provide the kids with better things but instead humiliated them.
