How does viewing this text through a child’s perspective change the way we experience it? Explain using an example from the text. When JoJo was talking about the war he seems more excited but when we saw it through Captain Klenzendorf's perspective it showed us that he knew the horrors of war.
How would this text be different if it were told from the perspective of an adult? How would the audience’s experience be different? The movie would be more serious and less comedic.
Why did the filmmaker or author decide to tell this story from a child’s perspective? It would be more joyful and comedic.
How are children represented in the text? They were shown to be more idiotic and were controlled easily by the adults. How are adults represented in the text? They were shown to be addicted to idolising Adolf Hitler.
Does imagination help the young hero to cope? Yes. How so? Because it helps the young hero to cope with what is going on around him. Provide an example. When Jojo discovered the Jew girl in his sister's bedroom he starts to panick, but his imaginary friend 'Hitler' gave him ideas on how to take advantage of the situation which seemed to calm him down.
